Realizing that a culinary dream is financially out of reach for many, Common Plate Hospitality has reserved one stall they will award to the winner of this Culinary Competition of a lifetime. The application deadline is September 25th. We will review all entries, and we will narrow it down to 3 contestants. These will be shown on ABC, and we will crown a winner in that 30 min segment. The winner will be awarded a fully built brick-and-mortar food stall at The Heights valued at 50k. This competition is an unprecedented opportunity for chefs, entrepreneurs, and food enthusiasts to compete and realize their dream of opening a culinary business and operating a food stall.


The Heights is our new Food Hall opening at the end of 2022 in Chevy Chase, Maryland.


The Heights will include one full-service restaurant (Urbano), a full-service bar (The Heights Bar), a speakeasy (The Turncoat), and eight local food stalls, including one stall picked from Urbano’s “Stall Wars” competition.

We expect the following culinary partners at this anticipated culinary space:

James Beard nominated Chef Kevin Tien of Moon Rabbit bringing forward a unique sushi concept;


RAMMY nominated Chef Javier Fernandez, the mastermind behind Kuya Ja’s and Lapu Lapu featuring his new concept Extra Rice;


Chef Priya Ammu’s iconic DC Dosa showcasing immensely popular and naturally vegan Indian street food;


Locally acclaimed Texas-inspired Barbeque, Supreme BBQ, and AunTea Boba;


Local favorite Mimi’s Handmade Ice Cream offers soft serve and cookies made in-store with locally sourced ingredients and ice cream by the pint.
